Are you looking for a freelance sportswear designer? Do you have a new idea or concept within activewear or performance sportswear market and need someone to help create turn this into a design?
Since we established in 1997, we have been designing performance sportswear for our clients from concept all the way through the design, development, sampling and production phase.
Blue Associates Sportswear was established to provide established sports brands and sportswear start-ups a one stop service to tap into an external sports design team to either support their existing team or act on behalf of their new brand and provide experienced design support from concept through to finished product.
Since our launch we have worked with some of the biggest names in performance sports and activewear within cycle, outdoor, ski, equestrian, marine, golf, gym and fitness but over the last 10 years we have focussed on developing brands with start-ups that have a great concept or niche, but lack the experience or knowledge on how to design, specify, source and produce this concept.
Many of the projects we become involved in with established brands who have a design team are about creating something revolutionary and completely innovative because their internal design team have become stagnant or are focussed on core commercial product that earns the money. This has allowed us the freedom to think outside the box and ignore what has gone before, creating sportswear that are complete game-changers, winning both ourselves and our clients awards and best in test gear reviews.
Over the years we have developed a seamless service from concept through to bulk production and our team are involved along the whole process to make sure the concept isn’t diluted in any way. Understanding the needs of the client and also the athlete is key but also the factories capabilities and expertise so that they marry to make a product that is both innovative but also very commercial.
Having a deep understanding of the factory’s skills, knowledge and experience alongside their technical capabilities allows us to be far more creative when we are in the design phases of the project. We are thinking about how to manipulate the manufacturing process to the benefit or the athlete with regard to performance and features so that we end up with a product that really makes a difference.
We don’t pass our designs and tech packs over to our clients to manage the production as the end result is never as pure as it should be. Having the initial designer involved in the fit and production process is paramount to making sure the concept is turned into reality without dilution.
If you are looking for a freelance designer, then get in touch and here why it’s so important that whoever you choose to design your activewear also sources and project manages the development all the way though to bulk production.
